IBERAUDIT Kreston, Kreston’s member network across Spain, Portugal and Andorra, recently held its 2015 national conference in Bilbao, with the participation of Franck Parker, Chairman at Kreston, a global network of independent accounting firms that covers over 100 countries with 600 offices and provides a resource of over 20,000 professional and support staff.
Jon Lisby, CEO at Kreston International, who presented on Kreston global strategy, underlined that the “total revenues of accounting firms had grown by 6 % in 2014” and explained that the main issues accounting firms face are succession planning, staff recruitment and retention; new technology and software and the expansion of service offerings.
Mercè Martí, Chairwoman and CEO at IBERAUDIT Kreston, presented on current and projected performance and the “continued success of the network’s strategy, since 2013, to achieve revenue growth of 11%”. Mercè Martí also stressed “the commitment of the firm to continue to build important relationships with Kreston” and congratulated Elena Ramírez, IBERAUDIT Kreston partner on her re-election onto the Kreston Board.
The conference was opened by host Juan Luis Gomeza, Vice-president at IBERAUDIT Kreston and partner at the Bilbao.The second day’s plenary sessions included presentations by Franck Parker, Darío Zamorano, partner at Kreston BSG (Mexico); and Key Note was Antonio Garamendi, Chairman of the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ of small and medium-sized enterprises (CEPYME-Confederación Española de la Pequeña y Mediana Empresa) and the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ of the metal industry CONFEMETAL. Mr Garamendi is also Vice-president at the Spanish Confederation of Employers’ Organizations (CEOE-Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales). The business agenda concluded with service line break out and networking sessions. Arturo Díaz, Vice-president at IBERAUDIT Kreston closed the conference after which delegates enjoyed Bilbao’s culture and local hospitality.
